Dare to Draw, Kids Beginning and Intermediate Drawing Skills
Youth Class | Registration opens 8/4/2026 9:00 AM MDT
This drawing class helps kids build confidence with drawing skills. We use a variety of drawing materials including shading pencils, pastels, charcoal, colored pencils, sharpies, markers and sometimes unconventional supplies. Each class we start with a technique challenge and then students get time to work on their own creations. My goal is to encourage students to make art in their own style and build on their own skills by trying out new ideas.
- Some drawing experience preferred but not required. Please send your students with a snack and water. It is also recommended to wear clothes that can get messy in or bring a paint shirt/apron. Make sure to stay with your student until class starts 5 minutes before class and honor the instructors time picking up on time.
Bethany Conrad
As an artist, I love drawing and painting, especially with watercolor. My works draw inspiration from nature and imagination. I received my B.A. in Art Education (with a k-12 certification) from UNC in 2012. My goal as an art teacher is to inspire students to create personally-meaningful artwork. Through the discovery of multiple mediums, my hope is to encourage students to take risks and build confidence within their creations.
