How to loosen up your Oil painting style
Adult Class | Registration opens 8/4/2026 9:00 AM MDT
Do you find yourself three inches from your canvas holding a tiny brush obsessing over details? Or do you find your paintings to be over worked and lacking an expressive quality? In this class you'll be not only using a slightly larger canvas but also using big brushes. Doing so will contribute to a much more spontaneous result. The instructor will do a demo plus one on one instruction.
- Students registering for this class should have basic drawing skills and prior experience with paint media.
- Oil paints
- Brushes (some bigger brushes)
- Rags
- Odorless turpentine
- Pallet box with a lid
- Canvas no smaller than 20 x 20

I’m a Colorado native, and love the beauty of this state. I feel I’ve been drawing, painting, and creating, all my life.
I studied Fine Art and Graphic Design at CSU, Fort Collins. Also studied abstract watercolor at Red Rocks college.
I feel that my strong design sense in my approach to my painting, comes from over 25 years as a graphic designer.
I truly believe that we are all creative souls, and that its so important to express that creativity in a non judgemental way;
thus enjoying the process and growing from it. Don’t ignore your inner beauty. BLOOM!
One of my favorite quotes:
“I decided that if I could paint that flower in a huge scale, you could not ignore its beauty."-Georgia O’Keefe
