Join Art Students League of Denver (ASLD) and Lighthouse Writers Workshop for a special program about the intersection of literature and art. Co-presented by a writer and a visual artist or art historian, each program pairs a work of literature and a work of visual art together. The speakers discuss both and make connections between the two. The audience is encouraged, but not required, to read the book or poem, and review the visual art piece prior to each program and to engage in the discussion during the Q&A session. All are welcome, including those who have not yet read the book.
Dino Enrique Piacentin
Dino Enrique Piacentini grew up in Los Angeles, lived in San Francisco for twenty years, and has also, at various times, set down stakes in Houston, Oaxaca, Champaign, and Prague. His writing has been published in One Story, Gulf Coast, Confrontation, Pembroke, The Master’s Review, The Atticus Review, and The Massachusetts Review, among other places. Currently, he lives in Denver, Colorado with his mini-Bernedoodle and full-sized husband and teaches creative writing at Lighthouse Writers Workshop.

Rupert Jenkins
Rupert Jenkins is the author of Outside Influence: Photography in Colorado 1945-1995 (University Press of Colorado, 2026). Many interviews he conducted during his research can be found on his Colorado Photo History blog (main menu). His consultancy, Durrington Edits, specializes in photography and photo-related arts.
