This will be a full 22-week, in person EMT Course. The classes will be every Monday and Wednesday from 5:30pm-9:30pm.  The class will begin on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. The class is scheduled to end on Wednesday, November 6, 2024.  An 80% is required by SNHD to pass the course.  Upon successful completion of the course, the student is eligible to sit for the National Registry of EMT's Certification exam. The class will be held at Community Ambulance, 91 Corporate Park Drive, Henderson, NV 89074. The fee for the course is $1,400.00. A deposit of $700.00 is required to reserve a seat in the class, with the remaining balance of $700.00 due 40 hours in to the class. If you cancel before the start of the class, there will be a $140.00 fee per Nevada State Postsecondary Education regulations. The tuition includes a Health Science Center shirt to be worn while in class and during ride along experiences. The fee does not include the e-text and online access or background check fee.  Information on ordering the etext with online access will be emailed upon registration.  

Student will submit a copy of a driver's license/state ID.  All students are required to pass a background check which is $50.00.  All information will be provided in a confirmation email upon enrollment.

  • Emergency Medical Technician:
  • The primary focus of the Emergency Medical Technician is to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation for critical and emergent patients who access the emergency medical system. This individual possesses the basic knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation. Emergency Medical Technicians function as part of a comprehensive EMS response, under medical oversight. Emergency Medical Technicians perform interventions with the basic equipment typically found on an ambulance. The Emergency Medical Technician is a link from the scene to the emergency health care system. Southern Nevada Health District hour requirements: 150-190 total didactic and lab hours. Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be eligible to sit the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification examination.
