Unleash imagination and experiment with a variety of materials, tools, and techniques in this hands-on camp! Dance concepts are paired with visual art concepts, deepening learning as children develop their reasoning, creative, and problem solving skills. Explore movement through the lens of a visual artist! This process-oriented camp celebrates self-expression and creativity. Art supplies will be a mix of CDC provided and parent-supplied.

Class concludes with an inspiring art and movement presentation for friends and family on Zoom.

  • Clothing: Dress for comfort and ease of movement. Dance clothes such as leotards, footless tights, sweatpants/shorts, leggings, t-shirts, dance skirts, etc. Students dance in bare feet. Dress for mess.
Jackson, Kechelle

Kechelle Jackson (she/her), a Seattle native, has a background in dance, sports, and music, which led to an enriching career in youth services and Early Childhood Education. In 2013 Kechelle joined the faculty of CDC after training with Anne Green Gilbert. At CDC she pursues her passion of working together with learning communities, young children, and families, to foster and enhance social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. In 2013 Kechelle founded Emerald City Creative Arts (ECCA) a unique program that specializes in providing quality experiences for young children using BCDE and BrainDance to provide movement enrichment in schools across the Greater Seattle area.
