Explore various street dance styles from the vibrant culture of Hip Hop. Discover dance concepts as you move in this rhythmic, energetic style. Learn the rich history and roots of Hip Hop and be part of a community of dancers centered on values of understanding and knowledge. Develop your unique voice through free-style and by creating your own dances. No previous Hip Hop experience required.

  • Students should bring clean-soled sneakers to change into for class.

    For Fall/Winter Session, Monday classes do not meet on January 2, 2023 (New Year's Holiday) and January 16, 2023 (MLK Day). Therefore Monday classes will meet on 15 dates, while other classes will meet on 17 dates. Monday class prices have been adjusted accordingly.
Jackson, Kechelle

Kechelle Jackson (she/her), a Seattle native, has a background in dance, sports, and music, which led to an enriching career in youth services and Early Childhood Education. In 2013 Kechelle joined the faculty of CDC after training with Anne Green Gilbert. At CDC she pursues her passion of working together with learning communities, young children, and families, to foster and enhance social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development. In 2013 Kechelle founded Emerald City Creative Arts (ECCA) a unique program that specializes in providing quality experiences for young children using BCDE and BrainDance to provide movement enrichment in schools across the Greater Seattle area.
