Fish-Sadin, Louisa

Louisa Fish-Sadin (she/her) grew up dancing with Kaleidoscope and keeps coming back to CDC as the source of her relationship with both dance and education. After working with (the always first and foremost) Anne Green Gilbert and other spectacular CDC faculty in her youth, Louisa went on to study dance as part of an Integrative Studies degree from St. Olaf College. She holds an M.Ed from the University of Washington, where she completed original research in learner-directed inquiry methods, and an M.Div from Harvard exploring somatics, climate change, and religious literacy. Over the course of her dance education, she has studied with master teachers including Sherry Saterstrom, Maria Bauman and Urban Bush Women, Mario Zambrano, and Eleanor Duckworth. Currently, Louisa is on the high school faculty at Forest Ridge School, where she develops and teaches courses across disciplines, including the school’s dance technique and choreography classes based on the principles of brain-compatible dance education. Louisa has over a decade of professional experience teaching dance (and many other things) to people of all ages in settings including primary and secondary schools, studios, graduate schools, and hospitals.
