Students experience complex movement possibilities within the BrainDance and explore the Elements of Dance - Space, Time, Force, Body - to develop personal expressivity. Structured movement sequences build technique. Dancers collaborate and study additional choreographic forms. Observation and communication skills are strengthened as students give feedback on peer dance studies created in class.
- Dress for comfort and ease of movement. Dance clothes such as leotards, footless tights, sweatpants/shorts, leggings, stretch pants, t-shirts, dance skirts, etc. Hair should be pulled back from the face. Students dance in bare feet.
Annie Hughes
Annie Garlick Hughes (she/her) holds a degree in Dance Education from Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. She has been teaching dance for over 15 years in studios, public schools, and community programs. Annie has danced with Artsbridge, Kinnect, Dancesemble and Contemporary Dance Theater (CDT), and has performed in India, China, and around the US. She believes that dance is a vehicle to greater enrichment regardless of age or experience. She loves to see children discover their creativity, decision making skills, and self expression through movement.
