BrainDance Foundations with Anna Mansbridge
Workshop | Available
Developed by Creative Dance Center founder, dance educator, and author Anne Green Gilbert, the BrainDance sequences through eight fundamental movement patterns of early human development. BrainDance is a flexible framework that can be used as a warm-up for any physical activity, an energizing brain boost, or calming movement meditation. It is highly adaptable and can be tailored for different ages and abilities.
This workshop provides a foundational understanding of the origins of the BrainDance and offers practical applications that can be used with different populations in a variety of settings. Participants will explore several BrainDances and experience the many benefits of doing this unique exercise: reorganization of the neurological system; increased blood and oxygen flow to the respiratory system and brain; enhanced core support, connectivity, and alignment; deeper understanding of dance technique; and improved focus and mood elevation. This workshop will cover BrainDances appropriate for ages seven through adults/seniors. We invite you to attend BrainDance: Early Childhood & Primary Grades if you work with or teach these ages!
