Creative Dance Center is thrilled to welcome a cast member from the National Tour of The Lion King!

In this 1.5-hour master class, students will:

  • Learn choreography in the style of The Lion King

  • Explore performance artistry through dynamic movement, storytelling, and musicality

  • Connect with a professional cast member during an engaging Q&A, gaining behind-the-scenes insight into life on tour, the audition process, and sustaining a career in the arts

groundbreaking movement style for The Lion King that blends African and contemporary dance. Spaces will be limited, so sign up early!

Our Spotlight Series welcomes youth ages 12+ and adult dancers with intermediate experience to learn from guest artists sharing their artistry and expertise.

  • Participants should bring a full water bottle and wear comfortable clothing that allows for freedom of movement. We recommend dressing in layers during cold weather, as the temperature can fluctuate inside the studio. To accommodate for sensitivities, please avoid wearing perfumes or scents. 
Notsuka, Yuka
Yuka Notsuka

The Creative Dance Center is honored to welcome Yuka Notsuka as our Spotlight Series guest teacher on January 3, 2026. Yuka Notsuka is from Fukuoka, Japan, and is currently touring with The Lion King North America. She is a graduate of The Ailey School’s Scholarship Program and continues to train and teach at Luigi’s Jazz Centre under her mentor, Francis J. Roach. Her credits include the CATS Broadway North American Tour (Victoria), South Pacific National Tour (Liat), and the An American in Paris National Tour. She also served Bob Fosse’s DANCIN’ Broadway production as its Choreographic Reconstruction Assistant. Her production company work includes Walt Disney World, Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company, the Ailey Spirit Gala at Lincoln Center, and Universal Studios Japan.
