Intro to Hula Dance with Megan Felise

Workshop | Available

Step into the beauty and tradition of Hula, a Hawaiian art form that weaves movement, chant, and song into storytelling. Master teacher Megan Felise fell in love with dance as a Kindergartener learning and performing Hula while growing up on the island of O'ahu. She has since used her Hula storytelling skills to continue developing in various dance and performing styles. In this special workshop, students will:

  • Learn Hula Dance Basics including Technical Vocabulary and Movements

  • Explore the cultural roots of Hula as both a performing and visual art

  • Apply new skills in Hula Dance choreography that brings story and music to life

Note:
Participants should bring a full water bottle and wear comfortable clothing that allows for freedom of movement.

Our Spotlight Series welcomes youth ages 12+ and adult dancers with intermediate experience to learn from guest artists sharing their artistry and expertise.
