Hip Hop Groove

Children & Teens | Available

Get ready to move, groove, and express yourself! Hip-Hop Groove introduces students to the high-energy world of hip-hop dance in a fun, supportive, and creative environment. Dancers will learn age-appropriate choreography, foundational hip-hop moves, and freestyle skills while developing rhythm, coordination, and confidence.


Each class includes a warm-up, skill-building exercises, and choreography practice, all set to upbeat, kid-friendly music. Students are encouraged to bring their own personality and creativity to the dance floor, building not just technique, but self-expression and teamwork too.


No experience necessary—just a positive attitude and a love for music and movement!


This class will take place in the Lower Studio.

  • Students should bring clean-soled sneakers to change into for class.
Jackson, Kechelle
Kechelle Jackson

Kechelle Jackson (she/her) is a Seattle native, educator, and arts advocate with a lifelong passion for dance, music, and creative expression. With a degree in Early Childhood Education and over a decade of experience educating young children, she is passionate about creating joyful, movement-based learning experiences that foster creativity, confidence, and connection.


After training with Anne Green Gilbert, Kechelle began teaching at Creative Dance Center in 2013 and is excited to return to the CDC faculty. That same year, she founded Emerald City Creative Arts (ECCA), an organization specializing in dance, arts, and movement-based learning opportunities for young children. Through partnerships with schools across the greater Seattle area, ECCA brings creative arts experiences into classrooms that inspire curiosity, collaboration, and a lifelong love of learning.


Alongside her teaching, Kechelle leads educational nonprofits and is committed to creating meaningful opportunities for children, educators, and families through the arts. She has also served on the Board of the Dance Educators Association of Washington since 2016 and currently serves as President. She is passionate about supporting dance educators, strengthening arts education, and building communities where children, families, and educators can thrive together.
