The book is a wonderous invention. It is portable, relatively inexpensive and it can entertain us, instruct us and bring the thoughts of those long gone into the present. Gutenberg’s printing press changed the world. But the book did not magically spring into being with the printing press. There is a fascinating history starting well before the invention of paper or alphabets that paved the way. The book didn’t stop with Gutenberg either. Today we have the emergence of digital text, e-readers and more. Join us as we explore this revolutionary invention.
