S25-23 The Musical Life of Irving Berlin NEW
Class | Registration opens 3/9/2025 9:00 AM EST
The great composer, Jerome Kern said, "Irving Berlin has no place in American music... he IS American music!".
Come and spend six weeks hearing stories and songs written by the man who wrote "Alexander's Ragtime Band", "Always", and "God Bless America".
An American institution, Irving Berlin (a Russian immigrant), synthesized the sounds he heard in New York City, into the new sound of America starting at the turn of the 20th Century. And, by the way, he lived until the ripe old age of 101!
