F25-12 The Art of America: The American Experience in Visual Arts NEW

Class | Registration opens 8/17/2025 9:00 AM EDT

American artists have created a distinct brand of art born of diverse cultures, blended backgrounds and ethnic inclusiveness. American artists have turned our melting pot society into a visual tradition that stands separate from all others. Latin American and African American artists express their journey for acceptance. The Roaring 20's Art Deco movement becomes one of the first uniquely American decorative art styles. Mexican muralists like Diego Rivera ponder the passions of a perfect order. Institutions like the Cleveland Museum of Art hold vast collections of world art. This lecture series is all about “America the Beautiful”.
