S26-28 “Brave, True-Hearted Women:” Women in Cleveland History NEW

Class | Registration opens 3/8/2026 9:00 AM EST

Historian Judy MacKeigan shares stories of some of the women whose lives and work intertwined with the founding and growth of Cleveland during the 19th and early 20th centuries. Yankee farmwives, immigrant business owners, philanthropists, pioneers in education and social work, and one notorious con-woman. All these women left their mark on the area as Cleveland grew from a frontier village to a large, industrial city.

Some of these women may be familiar to you and others may be new to you, but all of them have a story to tell.

Judy MacKeigan
