Class | Registration opens 12/6/2026 9:00 AM EDT
There are many artists, themes and styles that sometimes are lost in the shadows of giants. The Pre-Raphaelites of England, Still Life painters of 17th century Holland, the Amarna Style of Ancient Egypt, the Abstract Expressionists, Famous Female Artists and Italian Renaissance contemporaries of Michelangelo. In this unit of “Lesser Knowns," we will study the art of Dante Gabriel Rossetti, the 17th century Dutch still life painters, the Renaissance master Botticelli, Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko, Mary Cassatt, Berthe Morisot and King Tut's tomb. "Many things...wonderful things" to study, so says Howard Carter the discoverer of Tut's tomb.
