I Feel the Earth Move NEW
Class | Registration opens 12/6/2026 9:00 AM EDT
In this class, we’ll take a look at the slow (and fast) earth movements that create mountains, earthquakes, volcanoes and tsunamis. We’ll go from early concepts of earth structure to the latest investigations of the interior of the earth, check out mountains that are still growing and oceans that are getting wider and learn more about the cataclysmic changes that earth movements can bring about.
Mare Matthews
Mare Matthews loves learning and teaching about science topics. Her initial degree was in Natural Resources/Forestry, and she worked for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources in freshwater protection during oil and gas well drilling. After a switch to education, Mare was lucky to study more science, with an NSF-funded Masters in Science Education; she fell in love with weather, astronomy and geology. She taught science in Cleveland schools for 26 years and still loves researching and presenting science information.
