Prelude to War: The Real Causes of the Revolutionary War
Class - In Person & Zoom | Available (Membership Required)
On July 4, 1776, thirteen British Colonies in America publicly declared in a Broadside newsprint their independence from Great Britain and fought a war that lasted eight long years to achieve that goal. What caused this drastic separation from the Mother Country? Was it Taxation, or Taxation without representation? Was it the price of tea? Was it religious reasons? What roles did the real leaders of this rebellion play? Were there any unsung heroes that we should remember today? Who? These and many other questions will be addressed that focus on the "real" causes of our Revolutionary War. With the 250th anniversary of the battles of Lexington and Concord only a few weeks away from the date of this talk, the class will be a timely event.
