The Civil Rights Movement We Remember - And the One We Forget

Class - In Person & Zoom | Available (Membership Required)

When we talk about the Civil Rights Movement today, we often hear a neat story of heroes and inevitable progress. This discussion will show how the real history was far messier - and far more powerful. We will look at how public memory often leaves out the hard fights, radical ideas, and fierce resistance that shaped the movement. We will also explore why these myths matter now, affecting how we view today's struggles for justice. By looking honestly at the past, we can better understand the challenges and possibilities of the present.
