This is the story of the 70,000 Filipino and American soldiers who were surrendered in the Philippines during World War II in April-May 1942. The talk will cover the Bataan Death March, surrender of General Wainwright, and the camps at O;Donnell, Cabanatuan, Bilibid and Davao. The talk will also cover those who did not surrender and the movement to Japan of all American POWs on the hellships of 1944-45. Nearly 50% of the 20,000 Americans taken prisoner would not survive.
