It's A ___!!! How Sexes Develop and Differentiate
Class - In Person & Zoom | Available (Membership Required)
At around 4-6 months of pregnancy, parents today are buying pink or blue confetti cannons, cakes, and other decorations for a gender reveal. Why does it take so long to tell the gender of a baby in utero and do we all start out female? The process of sexual differentiation is a complex one that involves many hormones and anatomies beyond just the XX or XY chromosomes. In this talk, we will discuss the fascinating start to all human embryos and how sexual differentiation and development progresses from conception to puberty.
