The British High Command (Land) during the Revolutionary War
Class - In Person & Zoom | Available (Membership Required)
Americans were able to win their independence from Great Britain after eight long years of conflict. What is remarkable is that they eventually achieved victory against some of the most highly experienced and capable British commanders to ever serve in the British Army. Some Americans are aware of Lord Cornwallis, who surrendered at Yorktown in October 1781. Few Americans, however know much about the other British commanders who led professionally trained British and Hessian troops against far less experienced American militia and Continental troops. Who were these other British commanders? This talk will explore the profiles of these men.
