Description of Tour:  Located near the project site, the Hampton Roads Bridge Tunnel (HRBT) Welcome Center helps turn complex engineering into an experience. Thrpigh colorful murals, historical exhibits, and interactive STEM activities, the community can learn about the innovation and technology behind the largest highway construction project in Virginia history.

At the Welcome Center, visitors can explore how the tunnels are being built, meet Mary the Tunnel Boring Machine and Katherine the Slurry Treatment Plant, and learn about the pioneering women Mary Jackson and Katherine Johnson, who inspired the names of the project's most essential equipment.
