This presentation will cover the evolution of a nuclear submarine from conceptual design through technological development and production.

Michael Cohen

Michael Cohen is a 1971 graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy with a B.S. degree in physics and a graduate of George Washington University with a Master of Engineering Administration degree. He completed the U.S. Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program in 1972 and served on two nuclear submarines as well as an aircraft carrier. He left the U.S. Navy in 1976 and worked at Newport News Shipbuilding from 1977 through 2009, serving as an Electrical Systems Design Engineer and Reactor Plant Shift Test Engineer on Los Angeles (SSN 688) Class attack submarines as well as a contract administrator on various projects. He is currently Government Contracts Administrator at Bauer Compressors, Inc. in Norfolk, VA
