Francis Land House
3131 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach
Friday, July 10, 2026
After several years of restoration, the historic Francis Land House has reopened.
This 1805 Virginia Beach landmark is welcoming visitors for a docent-led tour of the first
floor and garden. Enjoy a self-guided tour of the 2nd floor exhibits.
The first floor of the house is a snapshot of life in the 19th century. New exhibits on
the 2nd floor highlight its long history through prohibition, World War II and its time as
Rose Hall Dress Shop. See tributes to the enslaved persons who worked on the property
in its formative days and to the indigenous people who originally called this site their
home. Walk the lovely grounds and garden – another glimpse of colonial times in
Virginia Beach.
Following the tour, lunch is optional at Bonefish Grill, a short drive away.
