The Battle of Hampton and Dunmore's Campaign of 1775

This class will examine the chain of events that led to the Battle of Hampton in the fall of 1775.
An exercise in cause and effect, this presentation will help participants understand how Virginia went from one of
the most loyal colonies to a hotbed of revolution in just a few short months.

Kris Peters

Kris Peters is a local historian who has been working in museum education for nearly 20 years. His
topics of focus are Colonial American History, Ancient History, Maritime History and Technology, Military
History and Anthropology.
