The Furious Fall of '75
Class - In Person & Zoom | Available (Membership Required)
The Furious Fall of ’75 is a presentation of the events surrounding the early run-up to the
American Revolution in the Tidewater region of Virginia. The discussion will begin with the basis for grievance by
colonial Virginians and then explicitly examine the events of 1775 that led Virginians to fire on His Majesty’s
forces at the Battle of Great Bridge on December 9th of that year. Further, we will examine the immediate
consequences of the battle and the more far-reaching strategic impacts for both Virginia and a fledgling nation yet
to declare independence.
