This semester we will return to Western Europe following the Treaty of Utrecht, which ended the War of the Spanish Succession in 1714. England and France emerged as rival dominating powers resulting in The War of the Austrian Succession (1740) and the 7 Years War in 1756.

Carol McCavitt

Carol McCavitt has been teaching for SPARK since 2009. Before moving to Kansas City, Carol was a high school teacher on Long Island, where she taught Advanced Placement European History for 20 years. Educated as an undergraduate at SUNY at Stony Brook, Carol completed her Masters Degree at Queens College in NYC and did her doctoral work at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
