Join us for an introduction to the geological information provided by rocks, minerals and fossils and the role of museums in preserving and protection geologic specimens. The focus will be on the Richard L. Sutton Jr. Geosciences Museum, which is located in the Miller Nichols Library on the campus of the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

Professor Emeritus in Geology (Geochemistry and Mineralogy) at UMKC and Curator of the Richard L. Sutton Jr. Geosciences Museum. He began teaching at UMKC in 1988 and retired in 2019 but is still active with the museum and in helping students in learning how to use various analytical instruments.
