Join us to see the thousands of rock, mineral, gem and fossil specimens featured in the Richard L. Sutton Jr Museum of Geosciences, located on the third floor of the Miller Nichols Library at UMKC, The museum was founded by Richard L. Sutton Jr., M.D., a renowned dermatologist with an avid interest in geology, mineralogy and fossils, especially ammonites. Our tour guide will be James Murowchick, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus in Geology at UMKC and Curator of the Geosciences Museum.

James Murowchick
Professor Emeritus in Geology (Geochemistry and Mineralogy) at UMKC and Curator of the Richard L. Sutton Jr. Geosciences Museum. He began teaching at UMKC in 1988 and retired in 2019 but is still active with the museum and in helping students in learning how to use various analytical instruments.
