She emigrated to the United States from Lebanon as a child currently works as an English as a Second Language teacher, teaching ESL and American Citizenship to immigrants and refugees from all over the world. She serves on the Board of Trustees at the Islamic Center of Greater Toledo. She and her husband, Ahmad, are parents to two adult children.
