Seeing History Through Impressionist Art
Class | Registration opens 5/15/2026 8:58 AM EDT
Impressionism is one of the most popular art movements, even with people who claim not to appreciate art. This session is an opportunity to discuss why this art is so engaging and explore what these images reveal about dramatic changes in the world of visual art. Many of the works presented are from the Toledo Museum of Art collection.
Carol Schwartz, Ph.D., loves to learn and finds it more fun to learn with others. She has taught students from junior high through graduate school, both online and face-to-face. After retiring from Lourdes University, Dr. Schwartz became a Docent at the Toledo Museum of Art, which allows her to combine her appreciation for art with a historical background to create a fuller perspective.
