Gratitude Moon Guided Forest Therapy

Class | Registration opens 8/31/2026 8:58 AM EDT

Registration deadline: Nov. 15th

This Thanksgiving week reap the blessings of the woods and waterways of the lovely Sisters of St. Francis campus as we saunter beneath a setting sun and almost full moon. Expect a slow, meditative walk of less than one mile that includes the complete sequence of Forest Therapy invitations as taught by the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy. We will end with an outdoor tea ceremony featuring an herbal tea, light snacks from the land and a sharing time to answer questions and delve more deeply into the benefits of daily reflection time in nature.

This class is led by Kim High through her Nature By High project, which is guided by the vision of "enriching lives and spirits through nature and community.

Kim has been guiding and teaching interpretive naturalist programming in Northwest Ohio for decades. She retired from her 40-year career at Metroparks Toledo as Master Interpreter in 2023. She was trained by the National Association for Interpretation to certify Metroparks naturalists, volunteers and staff as guides and hosts throughout much of her time there. She also taught annual interpretive naturalist classes to students at both the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University for over twenty years each as a part-time faculty. In addition to her specialty of nature interpretation, Kim is a Certified Forest Therapy Guide, a trained herbalist and a Reiki Master. She is committed to her own self-practice of all three of these wellness disciplines while blending them into her work at Nature By High - a project she developed following her retirement.
